Quick Answer

Elite uses truck-mounted hot water extraction for most fabric types and specialized low-moisture methods for delicate materials like silk, velvet, and certain linens. Most upholstered furniture dries in 4–8 hours. We recommend professional cleaning every 12–24 months, or every 6–12 months for homes with pets or young children.

Your upholstered furniture absorbs everything — body oils, sweat, pet dander, food crumbs, dust mites, and airborne allergens. Unlike hard surfaces you can wipe down, fabric fibers trap contaminants deep where vacuuming barely scratches the surface. Over time, this buildup causes discoloration, odors, and premature fabric wear that makes expensive furniture look years older than it is.

At Elite Carpet Cleaning, we bring the same truck-mounted extraction power we use on carpets directly to your furniture. Our IICRC-certified technicians assess every piece individually — checking fabric codes, fiber content, and colorfastness before selecting the right cleaning method. Whether it's a microfiber sectional covered in pet hair, a leather sofa with body oil buildup, or a delicate linen armchair with wine stains, we have the chemistry and technique to clean it safely and thoroughly.

West Texas dust is relentless. Between the wind-blown sand, oilfield grit, and dry climate that accelerates fabric wear, Permian Basin furniture takes a beating that furniture in other regions simply doesn't. Professional upholstery cleaning removes what's embedded, restores fabric texture, and extends the life of pieces you've invested hundreds or thousands of dollars in.

How our upholstery cleaning process works

A clear, step-by-step approach — no mystery, no upsell ambush.

1

Fabric Assessment & Pre-Test

We inspect each piece of furniture individually, checking the manufacturer's cleaning code (W, S, WS, or X), testing for colorfastness in a hidden area, and identifying fabric type. This determines whether we use hot water extraction, dry cleaning solvents, or low-moisture methods for safe, effective results.

2

Thorough Vacuuming

Before any liquid touches the fabric, we vacuum all surfaces, crevices, and under cushions with a HEPA-filtered commercial vacuum. This removes loose dirt, pet hair, crumbs, and dry soil that would otherwise turn to mud during the cleaning process. This step alone makes a visible difference.

3

Pre-Treatment & Spot Work

A professional pre-spray is applied to the entire surface to break down embedded oils, grime, and general soiling. Individual stains get targeted treatment — enzyme solutions for pet stains, oxidizers for food and drink stains, and solvent-based agents for ink or grease. Each stain type requires different chemistry.

4

Deep Extraction Cleaning

Using our truck-mounted system with an upholstery-specific hand tool, we inject heated cleaning solution into the fabric while simultaneously extracting it along with all the dissolved dirt, oils, and contaminants. The upholstery tool is designed for controlled moisture — enough to deep clean without over-wetting the cushion cores.

5

Fabric Grooming & Speed Drying

After extraction, we groom the fabric with soft brushes to restore pile direction and prevent matting during drying. Air movers are positioned to accelerate drying. Most pieces are ready to sit on within 4–8 hours, depending on fabric density and humidity.

6

Optional Fabric Protection

We offer Scotchgard-type fabric protector application that creates an invisible barrier against future spills and stains. This is especially valuable for light-colored fabrics, homes with kids or pets, and any piece you want to keep looking new longer. The protector doesn't change the look or feel of the fabric.
